Gathering at Goodwood
What an amazing day to meet at Goodwood Motor Circuit, 6 of us Women in Wheels gathered for a day of adventure, friendship, and driving. The excitement in the air was palpable as the ladies greeted each other with smiles and hugs, ready to embark on another unforgettable journey together.
Exploring the Saywell Track
Our day began with a wander around the Saywell Track, a renowned section of the Goodwood Circuit. We marvelled at the sleek lines of the cars and the storied history of the track, sharing stories and admiring all of the sportscars that were there. The thrill of the track day was evident as we watched some of the high-performance cars in action, feeling the adrenaline rush vicariously through the drivers, Katie started the morning off with a ride around the track in the Pink pig.
The Scenic Route: Arundel and Petworth
After our invigorating start at Goodwood, we set off on a scenic route that took us through the charming towns of Arundel and Petworth. The convoy of cars, each one driven by a passionate woman, wound its way through the picturesque countryside.
Arundel
Our first stop was Arundel, a town rich in history and beauty. The towering Arundel Castle provided a stunning backdrop as we drove through its quaint streets. The sight of the castle, with its turrets and battlements, transported us back in time, adding a touch of magic to our journey. We paused for a few moments to take in the view, snap some photos, and appreciate the blend of natural beauty and historical grandeur.
Petworth
Continuing our drive, we headed towards Petworth, another gem in the Sussex countryside. The rolling hills and expansive fields were a treat for the eyes, offering a sense of peace and tranquillity. Petworth House and its parklands were a highlight, their beauty accentuated by the golden light of the late morning sun. We took our time driving through the scenic routes, enjoying the harmony of nature and the open road.
Destination: The Hut in Petersfield
Our scenic drive concluded at The Hut in Petersfield, a delightful spot perfect for our group. The cosy ambience of The Hut welcomed us as we parked our cars and made our way inside. The staff greeted us warmly, and we quickly settled into a comfortable corner, ready to unwind and enjoy a leisurely lunch.
Lunch, Laughter, and Bonding
Over a delicious spread, we chatted about our morning adventures, shared stories from the road, and giggled over funny anecdotes. The conversations flowed easily, touching on everything from favourite driving experiences to personal milestones.
